    Definitely! Being a telehealth practice allows us to work together on your health goals no matter where you are located or what time zone you're in.

    At the Unscripted Clinic, our functional medicine nurse assists those with a wide variety of health concerns. Utilizing a systems-based approach recognizes that symptoms, signs, and diagnoses do not exist in isolation; instead, we focus on targeted support for entire system to restore function to dysfunctional areas.   • Do you work with kids?
    Yes, children are welcome at the Unscripted Clinic! Cara's professional background in pediatric care and personal experience as a mom allow her to blend these perspectives, providing a unique and effective approach to your child's health.
  • Do you accept insurance?
    Unscripted Clinic does not accept insurance at this time. However, you may be eligible to use your HSA or FSA for payment, and we encourage you to look into that option! We can provide a billing summary for potential insurance reimbursement, but please note that we cannot assist with claims processing.
  • Who can benefit from working with a functional medicine nurse?
    The short answer: everyone! This approach not only targets the root causes of health issues but also focuses on prevention and resilience, suitable for anyone looking to enhance their long-term wellness. Given the overwhelming amount of health information available, functional medicine helps clarify and prioritize what's truly beneficial for your health, making it an intentional choice for a healthier life.
  • Does "Unscripted" mean you're against using pharmaceuticals?
    No, "Unscripted" does not mean we avoid using pharmaceuticals altogether. While we cannot prescribe medications, we recognize that they are sometimes necessary and play a crucial role in managing certain health conditions. Our approach prioritizes exploring other options first, supporting your body systems to reduce or avoid the need for pharmaceuticals. We help you discuss the risks and benefits of such treatments and work to maintain balance when starting them, ensuring they are most effective with the fewest unintentional effects. We aim to address the root causes of health issues and support overall wellness by using a balanced array of treatments, including nutrition, lifestyle changes, and natural therapies. When pharmaceuticals are needed, we educate our patients about their effects and work to mitigate any potential nutrient deficiencies or other issues they might cause.   • Can you manage my prescriptions?
    As a registered nurse and wellness consultant, Cara is unable to manage prescriptions. However, we will work with you to analyze the risks and benefits of your medications and help you understand potential considerations, such as specific nutrient deficiencies caused by certain pharmaceuticals. We provide information and guidance to support your overall wellness journey and help you make intentional and informed decisions about your health.
  • Can you order labs?
    Yes! We offer standard blood labs as well as more specialized functional medicine tests such as hormone testing, food sensitivity testing, and more.

    Send us a message and we'll get back to you ASAP (usually within one business day).
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    I understand that things happen, but in order to accommodate other clients and manage our schedule effectively, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment via the Client Portal if you need to cancel or reschedule. I'll send you a reminder email a few days prior to your appointment. Please note that a $50 cancellation fee applies if less than 24 hours' notice is given.
  • What's your communication policy?
    If you're not yet a client - you can send a message through the contact form on the Home or Story pages. Once you’re a client, we’ll conduct our communication through the client portal (Practice Better) to ensure that all communications are available in one place and secure. Allow two business days for a response, but most responses will be received within one business day. In order to maintain professional boundaries and ensure clear communication, I do not allow texting.
